Retreat to the Coast
Set on the stunning landscape of the Bodega Marine Reserve, the Bodega Marine Laboratory offers a unique retreat for researchers, students, and conference attendees seeking a remote field site on the Northern California coast. The housing enclave, located just a mile from the laboratory, provides a quiet and immersive environment where guests are surrounded by nature, with frequent sightings of deer, quail and other wildlife. Adding to its rich history, the land where the enclave sits once served as a set for scenes from The Birds, Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller.
Whether staying in the lodge, dormitories, or apartments, visitors can enjoy a peaceful setting that fosters focus and collaboration. On-site dining services provide full meal options in the Dining Hall, with catering available for conferences and special events. Meeting spaces are equipped for workshops, classes, and scientific gatherings, ensuring a comfortable and productive experience in an inspiring coastal setting.
