I’m a PhD student in the Ocean Climate Lab. My research is in conservation paleobiology–using big-picture insights from deep time to better understand and predict changes in aquatic invertebrate communities in today’s changing climate. I’m passionate about protecting Indigenous knowledge sovereignty and doing research that is community-led and directly beneficial to communities, so I love opportunities to engage with students/communities beyond the university.
I hold a B.A. in Geosciences from Williams College, where I studied organic-walled microfossils and the Late Devonian mass extinction, and an A.A. and A.S. in Liberal Arts from Des Moines Area Community College. Outside of my academic work, I play tuba and trombone, so catch me in concerts of all genres around the Valley.
